“A Night at the Museum: Butterflies at Sunset”

As the sun sets beyond the Chicago skyline, “A Night at the Museum: Butterflies at Sunset” begins with its own breathtaking spectacle: an opera singer bursts into a soaring a capella aria as hundreds of butterflies flutter into the gloaming, at this private event.

The festivities do not end with the butterflies being released. Guests get to mingle over cocktails, appetizers, sweets, and beats from a live DJ. During the evening’s fashion show, Shannon Ihrke, the Loop Rock Girl, strolls the runway in designs from Benjamin Cottrell. Author Nikki Knepper will also be on hand to sign copies of her book Moms Who Drink and Swear, and three floors of the museum will be opened for additional exploring. The evening’s proceeds benefit The New Horizon Center, a school for developmentally disabled children that maintains a low student-to-teacher ratio.

This is a private event and is not affiliated or endorsed by the Peggy Notebaert Natural Museum.
