The Deal

• $35 for one admission to a 90 minute candle-making workshop with chandler Shem Gott
• Upon purchase, you may schedule for one of the available dates
• You must reserve your date here in advance of the event

The event will be held at Mr. B’s Luminaries in Del Mar.

Each event is capped at 15 purchasers.

What You’ll Do

Lighting a candle can change the feel of an entire room, thanks to its romantic illumination and soothing fragrance. You’ll learn to make your own scented candles during this hands-on workshop, taught by professional chandler—or candlemaker—Shem Gott. He will begin by describing the ingredients used to craft candles before you try your hand at making one yourself.

• Learn Natural Candle-Making
  Use provided, all-natural ingredients—such as organic soy wax and fair-trade essential oils—to make a candle.

• Pour Your Own Candle
  The workshop’s hands-on portion allows you to prepare a jar, mix wax with scented oils, and pour the candle.

• Bring Your Creation Home
  Candles will be ready to take home the day after the workshop.

Shem Gott began making candles as a hobby, but it wasn’t long before the passion evolved into a profession. Today he operates a workspace and retail shop, Mr. B’s Luminaries, where he showcases hand-poured candles made with organic soy wax, fair-trade essential oils, and zinc-free wicks. When he’s not crafting his own candles, he teaches his techniques to others through hands-on workshops or during his travels across Southern California.
