What You'll Get
- $15 for one general-admission ticket (up to $20 value)
Spooky Sounds, Haunted Harmonies
- The Theme: Ghosts, ghouls, and bumps in the night—or, more precisely, everything Halloween. And to hammer this theme home, the Symphony encourages audience members to arrive in costume for the chance to win prizes.
- Special Guests: Guest conductor Julien Benichou will help Anna Binneweg lead the Londontowne Symphony side-by-side with the Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra.
- Program Highlight: A tone poem representing a witches’ sabbath on St. John’s Eve, Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain is best known for its hair-raising opening, where slowly climbing strings and woodwinds get swallowed whole by horns. Like The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, the composition is also famous for its use in the most frightening segment of Disney’s Fantasia.
