The St. Louis Big Band
Their Sound: This 9–18 piece orchestra gets audiences “In the Mood” with a repertoire of hot jazz classics from the ’20s and beyond that captures the passion and spirit of great big bands of yesterday.
Their Backstory: The group was founded in 2010 by visionary alto saxophonist and composer Ryan Sheehan (who was only 19 years old at the time), and has since become one of the most sought-after big bands in the Midwest.
The Show: The time-traveling performance draws from a songbook of over 200 familiar favorites, with gems from Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman, plus a showstopping turn from crooner Joe Scalzitti as a young Frank Sinatra.
