At Stand-up, Scottsdale!, bellies acquire laugh-induced aches from a rotating selection of nationally known comedians. The intimate 180-person venue, where such local legends as David Spade got their start, plays host to two shows on both Friday and Saturday nights. Fill up on huge, meaty chuckles and svelte guffaws weekly, with a cast of talented funny persons that changes regularly. Past performers have included comedians from The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and network specials on Showtime and Comedy Central. The upcoming roster showcases the southern-fried charm of Chelsea Lately star Fortune Feimster (December 2–3), the wisecracking, unflinching straight talk of Chris Strait from TruTV’s World’s Dumbest (December 9–10), and venerable heckle-pillow and VH1 comic commentator Marianne Sierk (December 16–17).

During shows, there is a two-drink minimum ($3–$6 on average), so prime laugh pumps with offerings from the full bar and snack on some pub grub from the menu (not included with today’s Groupon). Food options include loaded fries ($9.95), pulled-pork sliders ($9.95), and the wine burger ($9.95), which pairs perfectly with jokes about cheese.
