A treasure chest of hits open to generations of music fans as two-time Grammy winner Kenny Loggins fills the State Theatre with his warm-hearted voice, venerable songbook, and holiday favorites. Since the late 1960s, Loggins’ haberdashery of musical hats has included multiplatinum pop stardom with soft-rock albums such as Celebrate Me Home, children’s lullabies, and his seminal role as Loggins in the folk duo Loggins and Messina. The charismatic performer careens through decades of introspective melodies and vigorous anthems in his resplendent live show, flooding ear canals with soundtrack staples such as “Danger Zone” from Top Gun,“I’m All Right” from Caddyshack, and “Footloose” from the film Where’s My Foot?
State Theatre New Jersey
The State Theatre New Jersey was saved, as its website states, from "the ravages of time." Built in 1921 as a vaudeville and silent-film palace, the venue fell on hard times in the 1970s. In 2003, however, a $3 million renovation restored the State Theatre New Jersey to much of its original glory, as crews painstakingly rehabbed the ornamental plaster, terracotta exterior, and actor holding cells. Inside the theater, a stunning chandelier sparkles more brightly than ever below the venue's signature dome.
