Summit College Presents X1039’s Merry Meltdown

  • The Dirty Heads: Championing peace and positivity, the punk-rap-reggae outfit summons the spirit of Sublime and their native Huntington Beach in groove-driven hits such as “Lay Me Down,” “Cabin by the Sea,” and “My Sweet Summer.”
  • Everlast: Initially rising to fame in the rap group House of Pain with 1992’s exuberant “Jump Around,” Everlast—né Erik Schrody—then embarked on a Grammy-winning solo career.
  • Pennywise: The post-punk rockers, who took their name from the fanged monster-clown of Stephen King’s It, dole out mosh-friendly tunes such as “Bro Hymn” and “No Way Out.”
  • Alien Ant Farm: The propulsive alt-rock quartet dominated airwaves with their 2001 take on Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal,” and have since sold over five million records, earned a Grammy nomination, and recorded a crowd-funded album.
  • Authority Zero: Their unique blend of ska, punk, and reggae has found an aural home on TV’s Smallville and in several video games.
  • As You Were: With a sound that melds hard rock with metal, classic, and modern licks, this unsigned quartet handily won X1039’s Localpalooza contest to land their spot in this lineup.
