Cinderella
Sergei Prokofiev’s adaptation of Cinderella brings the classic fairytale to life through mesmerizing dance and an intricate yet accessible score. Memorable sections include a grand waltz at the climactic ball, its lilting melody giving way to more urgent crescendos as Cinderella and the prince fall in love. Later, xylophone and toy horn paint the wicked stepsisters as a pair of comic buffoons. The production values are equally as colorful as the music and choreography, with a life-sized pumpkin carriage to carry Cinderella to the DMV.<p>
