The Scouting Report
It may be the Tacoma Stars’ first season in the Major Arena Soccer League, but they’ve already positioned themselves as serious playoff contenders with a solid 6–3 start. Much of this success is owed to goalie Danny Waltman. In the high-scoring world of indoor soccer, Waltman allows an average of just 4.7 goals per game—the fourth best in the league. He’ll try to lower that average while star midfielder Jamael Cox charges the net as they face off against the San Diego Sockers. This match marks the first time in 2015–16 that these division rivals have met, giving the team a chance to score a key win and catch up with Sockers players about their summer vacations.

About Tacoma Stars
The Tacoma Stars are a member of the Major Arena Soccer League, a league defined by fast-paced games and high scores. In fact, some of the MASL's records are eye-popping: the most goals ever scored in a single game by a single team is 28. In February 2015, the Stars' own Mark Lee etched his name into the league's record books by recording five goals. Going forward, similar heroic performances will be necessary for the team to keep pace with its Pacific-division foes, including clubs from Sonora, San Diego, Ontario, and Dallas.
