A stolen copyright. Dubious publishing-house owners. A wronged writer. In spite of its dramatic setup, Una Noche de Pasion unfolds into a comedy of errors, mistaken identity, and unexpected romance. The Spanish-language play stars David Zepeda as Fernando de la Riva, a writer whose copyright for Passion Pit, his treasured book, has been stolen by Don Gregorio and Doña Paz, the owners of a publishing house. In order to reclaim his work and prove plagiarism, Fernando breaks into Don Gregorio’s abode, where he encounters a houseguest and a personal assistant—each with their own agendas—along with a private investigator hired by a suspicious Doña Paz, who’s convinced of Don Gregorio’s philandering.
In addition to Zepeda, a lauded cast embodies the complex and funny-bone-tickling characters. Angelique Boyer plays Patricia, the houseguest and suspected mistress of Don Gregorio, and Alexis Ayala brings to life the dashing and dastardly Don. Personal assistant Bonny owes his humorous meddling to actor Carlos de la Mota, and Sabine Moussier personifies the fiery Doña Paz.
