The Scouting Report
In his first game as a collegiate player last season, running back Ray Lawry had one carry for a total of four yards. 943 yards and 16 touchdowns later, he earned Conference USA Freshman of the Year honors. Indeed, the former three-star high school recruit exploded onto the scene last fall, and he’s backed it up this season with an even more impressive sophomore performance: Through ODU’s first seven games, he racked up 830 yards and eight touchdowns, all while averaging more than six yards per carry and reducing multiple defenders to piles of protein powder. He’ll attempt to set the bar even higher for next season when the Monarchs host Florida Atlantic during their final home game of 2015.
