Atlanta has spawned well over 30 comedy clubs, not to mention famous comics from Jeff Foxworthy to David Cross. But before 1984, the city was surprisingly bereft of what has become its strongest comedic commodity: improv. To celebrate the birth of Atlanta improv and its ensuing nickname change from "Hotlanta" to "Hahaha," The Ark pairs two performers from six of the city's most popular improv troupes for a brand new, completely off-the-cuff showcase. Participating theaters include Automatic Improv, Whole World Improv Theater, Village Theatre, Dad's Garage Theatre Company, Laughing Matters, and The Basement Theater.
