The Awesome ’80s Prom

As an interactive nostalgia-based party similar to Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding, The Awesome ’80s Prom lets audience members dress up in their favorite 80s-era garb to sing and dance along with the cast at the premiere social event of Wanaget’s school year. While audiences dance, actors playing jocks, geeks, beauty queens, and other cafeteria-lunch-table tribes compete for audience votes that will win them the title of prom king or queen.

The New York Times called the show “like, so totally rad,” when it played in New York, and its soundtrack, which features artists such as Wham! and Cyndi Lauper, keeps the energy upbeat.
