Fashion Arena is a far cry from the well-worn catwalk display. Instead the event strives to be a visual masterpiece, combining motifs from classic fashion and contemporary style, as well as a peppering of the bizarre and the avant-garde. What results is as much theatre as it is fashion show—a combination of imagery, performance art, and poetry that delves into the individual’s personal relationship with his or her own beauty. Taking this concept especially to heart is the work of Fashion Opera co-founder Antonio Wingfield, who will display his latest work, The Awakening, to prove that whether the world can see it or not, each person’s beauty is always there.
To ensure that they spread their message as far as possible, the creative minds behind Fashion Arena take their show on the road, pairing its fashion-forward extravaganza with hair demonstrations, art and plenty of shopping opportunities. Vendors will span the worlds of home decor, health and wellness, and, of course, clothing and accessories.

About The Fashion Opera
Antonio Wingfield loved turning his designs into wearable realities—but he didn't love the fashion world's narrow standards of beauty. Looking to explore the deeper meanings of fashion, beauty, and the politics surrounding both, he developed a unique concept: using garments to tell a story. Wingfield co-founded The Fashion Opera with Darnelle Sanders, and the two set out to do much more than showcase clothing. The interactive theatrical experiences aim to challenge perceptions about aesthetics, a mission in keeping with Wingfield's belief that "a garment has the power to uplift the spirit."
