The Mystery Hour
Jeff Houghton may have learned the art of hosting while working at The Late Show with David Letterman, but his own talk show, The Mystery Hour, is more of a local affair. In fact, Houghton created it right in Springfield at the Skinny Improv. Since then, it’s gone on to a residence at the historic Gillioz Theatre, earned syndication (it airs Saturday nights at 9 p.m. on FOX 5), and won an Emmy. The cause for this success? It’s probably the affectionate, ever-affable, down-home banter of Jeff himself.
The October 23 show will feature guests Cheryl Bayer Brady — former VP of Comedy for Fox, Hollywood Visual Effects Supervisor Jamie Dixon, and surprise guest Ozarks Jubilee. Music will be performed by Tessa Kate, Casey Lynne and the Dealbreakers, and Patrick Mureithi.
