The Nashville Singers: Season of Harmony

For their annual holiday showcase, the dulcet voices of The Nashville Singers usher in the yuletide season with stellar choral performances of new musical gems and holiday favorites. Joining the Singers this year is father-and-son duo The O’Donnells, whose bluegrass and country foot-stompers have made them regulars at Rippy’s on Broadway.

These Season of Harmony concerts support the Nashville Singers’ mission to enrich lives through singing and the support of music education—specifically funding grants and scholarships.

The Nashville Singers

In 2014, The Nashville Business Journal’s Book of Lists” ranked The Nashville Singers as one of the top ten performance organizations in Nashville. That’s impressive, considering the vocal group has only recently emerged, and it will be no surprise if it ranks higher in the coming years. The first meeting of the Singers convened in November of 2008, when founding members Bruce Cokeroft, Todd Wilson, Harlan Wilson, and Taylor Wilson bonded over a commitment to excellence in vocal and choral performance. Their enthusiasm for excellent singing grew contagious, as the group has grown to 16 singers.

All volunteers, the Singers’ ages vary from 20’s to 80’s, with members who trek from Brentwood, Franklin, Hermitage, Hendersonville, Mount Juliet, Nashville, Portland, Smyrna, and La Vergne to join their brothers in harmony. Together, they’ve serenaded thousands, even catching the ear of major figures such as Nashville mayor Karl Dean, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, and United States Senator Trent Lott. Adding to the celebration of the ensemble’s 5th anniversary, Mayor Karl Dean and Governor Bill Haslam declared November 23rd as Nashville Singers Day across Nashville, Davidson County, and the State of Tennessee.
