What You'll Get
Although it’s been ostracized by the five traditional senses, the sense of humor is the only thing that enables human beings to detect a rubber chicken creeping up from behind. Stay on guard with this deal to see the Paramount Comedy Series at The Paramount in Huntington on Saturday, June 2, at 8 p.m. For $25, you get two tickets for seating in mezzanine sections 205–210 (up to a $70 value, including all fees).
The Paramount Comedy Series continues its mission to bust Long Island’s collective gut with a fresh batch of jesters. During its June 2 show, FDNY veteran John Larocchia extinguishes furrowed brows with his loud, bullhorn-style delivery that casts epic disbelief over life’s daily chores, such as driving or dressing children. Recently starring as the title character in a Long Island production of Groucho, A Life In Revue, the multitalented Stevie GB mines the audience for laughs in bits that muse on his annoying neighbors, marriage, and Pee-wee Herman-like appearance. Funny guy Chris Distefano, who busted belly-laughing brackets last year in the annual March Madness comedy competition held by Caroline’s on Broadway, slaps on personas to reflect on the absurdities surrounding such topics as childhood and reality television.
Paul Anthony draws on his experience as host of the Long Island Comedy Festival to present Paramount Comedy Series’ giggle gala. Exposed-brick walls line The Paramount’s cavernous theater, where a laid-back concert vibe lets guests visit the mezzanine’s Skybar without missing a punch line or chance to request a favorite riddle.
