Having helped shape the rock landscape, the members of Styx continue to flex their honed and toned musical muscles as they perform two of their most popular albums in back-to-back concerts. Founded in a Chicago-area basement in the early ‘70s and named after the most popular water park in ancient Greece, the rock ‘n’ roll giants anchor the stage on November 16 with a front-to-back performance of 1977’s triple-platinum album, The Grand Illusion. The band warms up the crowd with the upbeat, “Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man), before lighters ignite to the piano intro of “Come Sail Away,” making way for the song’s triumphant, guitar-driven ending.

The following night, vocalist Lawrence Gowan and Company queue up 1978’s Pieces of Eight, which further inscribed the band’s name in rock history with the unmistakable organ in “Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)” and the lyrical plea of “Renegade,” which urgently exclaims, “Oh mama, I’m in fear for my life from the long arm of the law.” our customers will leave either show with a live DVD of Styx performing both hit records at the Orpheum Theater in Memphis at the end of 2010. The lively concert was recorded with 11 HD cameras, ensuring stunning views of the band’s rocking and rolling.
