The Scouting Report
Despite missing the playoffs, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan posted impressive numbers in 2014, throwing for 4,694 yards and 28 touchdowns with half as many interceptions. For the upcoming season, the team has largely left Ryan’s offense intact while bolstering the defense. In perhaps the most important defensive acquisition, former Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn stepped into the role as head coach after overseeing a fearsome squad ranked first in scoring defense, passing yards, and total defense. And with fresh defensive talent selected in the first two rounds of the draft, the Falcons’ retooled roster should be more than capable of stopping opponents before they can find the painted eggs hidden in the end zone.
