Todd Rundgren and Daryl Hall performing "Can We Still Be Friends"
Multifaceted rocker [Todd Rundgren](http://www.tr-i.com) has racked up fans for more than 40 years with an eclectic spread of music that ranges from tidy pop nuggets to sprawling paintings of progressive sound. Always on the lookout for fresh musical stimulation and really cute cat videos, Rundgren credits the inspiration for his new album State to Youtube ramblings. "That's how I did the research for the music,” he told Rock Cellar Magazine. “I would start somewhere and start clicking away and realize that there were a lot of different and very interesting ideas." Recorded solely by Rundgren, the resulting album shifts through a kaleidoscope of styles, from "Imagination," an eight-minute prog-rock meditation that opens the album, to "Party Liquor," which melds dance-ready electronica with a frenetic recounting of an out-of-control party. On tour, Rundgren will treat fans to songs from the new collection, as well as delving into classic favorites such as “Can We Still Be Friends” and “I Saw the Light.”
