Based on John Steinbeck’s celebrated Depression-era novella, Of Mice and Men weaves the tragic tale of two ranch hands trying to fulfill their dream of purchasing their own farm. Arriving a at new ranch, the intelligent George Milton tries to keep his simpleminded but towering companion, Lennie Small, out of trouble in spite of his Herculean strength, propensity for touching anything soft, and the ironic tension of his diminutive surname. The talented thespians of the local Phoenix Theater bring the book’s memorable cast of characters to life with heart-tugging emotion and dramatic aplomb.

Originally built in 1891 as the Trinity United Methodist Church, Trinity-on-Main’s beautiful Romanesque exterior reaches into the sky with its soaring 108-foot tower whose peak festoons the air with euphonious chiming bells. The auditorium sits nestled beneath a soaring wooden roof made of delicately arching oak and dotted with colorful stained glass windows.
