Watching an athlete succeed is supremely satisfying, though curiously, so is watching a dam fail. Feel the rush with this GrouponLive deal to see the Minnesota Boxing middleweight title bout between Truax and Vanda at the Minneapolis Convention Center, presented by Omega Presents. For $66, you get one general-admission ticket for ringside seating on Saturday, January 19, at 7 p.m. (a $120 value). Doors open at 6 p.m.

At one point, Matt Vanda's local boxing record was a flawless 27–0. An up-and-coming fighter, Vanda helped resurrect Minnesota's boxing scene in 2007, when he took on Anthony Bonsante in a bout that packed the Target Center with more than 9,000 fans. Now, at 34 years old and on the doorstep of retirement, Vanda hopes to end his career in dramatic fashion by luring the Minnesota Boxing middleweight title belt from Caleb Truax without simply trying to snag it from his waist with a fishing rod.

For his own part, Truax—who claimed the championship nearly two years ago—enters the January showdown with a nearly spotless record, his only loss coming to former world champion Jermain Taylor in a unanimous decision. Proving his worth as an adversary even in spite of his age, Vanda still touts a No. 2 ranking in the middleweight division—arguably the most competitive division in the sport.
