The Scouting Report
Last season the Tulsa Oilers capped off their first-ever ECHL season with a trip to the playoffs. In their quest to make a return trip, they rely on the sturdy goaltending of Kevin Carr, whose .935 save percentage has placed him among the top 10 netminders this young season. These December tilts pit the Oilers against West Division foes Rapid City, Utah, and Idaho, giving the team a shot at a trio of home wins and a chance to meet a few new pen pals.
The Tulsa Oilers started their decades-long history in the CHL, when they captured the Ray Miron President's Cup in their inaugural season. Now competing in the ECHL, the Oilers bring with them the respect of their opponents, the love of a loyal fan base, and the loyalty of the local zamboni-drivers labor union. Since their first-year coronation, the team has continued to showcase formidable form, fighting to secure a playoff berth against their new rivals.
