Unityfest

  • Culture Club (All Original Lineup w/ Boy George): English new wavers fronted by the glamorously androgynous Boy George created era-defining hits such as “Karma Chameleon,” “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?,” and “Time (Clock of the Heart),” which the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame included on its list of 500 songs that shaped rock. Now, the reunited quartet is preparing to release Tribes, their first new album since 1999.
  • Howard Jones: AllMusic.com called him the “king of peppy, mid-‘80s British synth-pop” thanks to his keyboard and synth skills on chart-topping singles including “Things Can Only Get Better” and “What Is Love.”
  • Marc Almond of Soft Cell: Former Soft Cell frontman of the UK No. 1 hit “Tainted Love”; Marc has since had a prolific solo career and boasts 30 million record sales worldwide.
  • My Life with The Thrill Kill Kult: The TKK has always been known for their industrial sound and theatrically edgy live performances. The band’s popularity among the underground club scene was fueled by hard-hitting dance tracks with titles like “Kooler Than Jesus”, “Do You Fear For Your Child”, and “A Daisy Chain 4 Satan.”
  • C+C Music Factory featuring Freedom Williams: Anchored by rapping foreman Freedom Williams, the Factory made listeners obey the commands of mega-hit “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)” and move while musing to “Things That Make You Go Hmmm…”
  • Book of Love: These synth-pop stalwarts conquered dance clubs throughout the ’80s with hits such as “Boy” while also widening the frontiers of their medium with the groundbreaking “Pretty Boys and Pretty Girls,” one of the first songs to openly address the AIDS epidemic.
