Upland is one of my favorite places to eat and drink at!

Next year more steins, food, and beer. I'd suggest the Rathskellar's appetizers or the Pretzel Wagon food truck. Lines were crazy long. Most of which will be fixed for next you I would assume. Great time regardless!

Need to work out the lines for beer... At times there were more people in line than sitting at the tables. But since it was a gorgeous day and the first year for the event, it definitely won't keep me from going back next year. I had a wonderful time, as did my friends.

What You'll Get

The haiku is a traditional Japanese poetic style rooted in nature, the rhythms of the seasons, guitar-shaped flowers, and beer. Tap into the bounty of nature with today’s deal: for $17, you get one general-admission ticket to Rusted Root live at the Hillbilly Haiku Americana Music Series, plus nine tickets for food and drink (up to a $34 total value). The music series will be held outdoors on the grounds of the Upland Brewing Company in Bloomington on Friday, September 2, at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Rusted Root, one of Pittsburgh’s most endearing and endurable bands, pours its frenetic blend of rock and world music into the brouhaha of the Hillbilly Haiku Americana Music Series, splendidly mixing with the evening’s hops and barley philanthropy. For 20 years, Rusted Root has roamed the world, accumulating a rabid fan base known as Rootheads due to its infectious performances and abundance of melodic pheromones. Known for the hit “Send Me On My Way,” which has been heard on television more often than lists of pharmaceutical side effects, Rusted Root’s kinetic chops aid in dance-machine digestion while dissipating passing mood clouds. Rounding out the evening of relaxed outdoor concentry, T.V. Mike and the Scarecrowes and gutsy chanteuse Bobbie Lancaster keep the vibes percolating while the landscape searches for a pretty companion to dance with. Each food and drink ticket is worth $1, giving the internal torso purse $9 worth of access to Upland brews, assorted beverages, and versatile fairground food that includes vegetarian options.

The Hillbilly Haiku Americana Music Series is an annual outdoor concert held by Upland Brewing Company for the main purpose of generating money for the Sycamore Land Trust, a nonprofit group dedicated to preserving the endangered landscape of southern Indiana. Attendees are welcome to bring a small collection of blankets, folding chairs, and a foldable, warm companion for this effervescent evening of drinks, rock ‘n’ roll, and environmental awareness.
