What You'll Get
Polo combines the pageantry of horseback riding, the clean-cut elegance of rugby, and the novelty of hearing horses neigh in a British accent. Hear whinnies in the charming dialect of Colin Firth with today’s deal: for $49, you get one VIP ticket to see Team U.S.A. play Team Mexico in a polo match at the Brandywine Polo Club in Toughkenamon (a $100 value). The match will be held on Sunday, September 25 at 3 p.m., rain or shine. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. Admission is free for children younger than 12.
Located in the Brandywine Valley, the Brandywine Polo Club’s 300-acre facility is a pleasant, relaxing setting in which to enjoy the excitement of polo. Co-hosted by the Mexican Cultural Center and Brandywine Polo Club, the match pits Team Mexico and Team U.S.A. against each other in the most riveting horse-mounted contest since Lincoln and Douglas jousted for the presidency nearly 500 years ago. A VIP ticket includes a half-time champagne divot stomp, a brewery tasting and catered lunch, and sideline views of the match. Throughout the equine steering and sphere striking, a covered 20’x40’ members-only area gives VIP spectators shelter from rain and modestly sized meteor showers. A portion of the match’s proceeds will be donated to Puentes de Salud, a local charity that helps Latino immigrants in the Philadelphia area Brandywine Polo Club attendees are advised to dress to impress.
