The men and women of the VCU Rams take to the turf with a series of home bouts against a slew of conference rivals. Recently ranked as the No. 20 men’s soccer program by an NCAA coaches’ poll, the men’s team hopes to add to its already stellar home record by fertilizing the field with their opponents’ dreams. Aided by the athletic efforts of such standouts as Jason Johnson, whose thunderbolt leg has already hammered home four goals this season, and the sure hands of goalkeeper Josh Pantazelos, the Rams continue their march toward a repeat playoff appearance. Alternatively, the women’s squad of newcomers and veterans welcomes the Old Dominion team to Sports Backers Stadium with hopes of watching the goalkeeper curl into a fetal position to hide from the relentless assaults of such players as Courtney Conrad, who currently leads the team with 22 shots.

Those opting for the family pack will find themselves showered in a storm of soccer swag. Each package includes four tickets, as well as two youth T-shirts, a signed photo, and unlimited skywriting lessons that allow devoted fans to declare their support for VCU.

Children ages five and younger and VCU students with a current ID may attend home games for free.

VCU Rams Athletics

In 2011, the VCU Rams athletics program emerged under the national spotlight's brightest bulbs when the men's basketball team advanced to the NCAA Final Four as an 11-seed. But while their Cinderella story may have made VCU a household name and bedtime story for sports-loving children, it is hardly the only instance of Rams' athletic success. Their women's basketball team went 23-10 last year and made it to the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). Members of the Atlantic 10 Conference since 2012, the Rams don their black-and-gold uniforms to proudly represent their university at a number of fan-friendly facilities.
