The Scouting Report
A year ago, the Wizards got off to their best start in three decades, eventually riding that momentum all the way to a second-straight appearance in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Equipped with that playoff experience, the Wizards dribble into the 2015–16 campaign as a potential contender for the league title. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have arguably the most talented back court in basketball. John Wall and Bradley Beal once again headline a deep roster that includes center Marcin Gortat and newcomers Jared Dudley and Gary Neal.
In early October, the Wizards tip off the new year with a trio of preseason matchups, including an October 11 showdown with Brazil’s Bauru Basket. The Wizards host all three games at the Verizon Center, where they have the advantage of a hearing a cheering crowd and knowing under which floorboards the extra sports drinks are stashed.
