The Scouting Report

With just two months remaining in the regular season, the Wizards are within striking distance of their third straight trip to the postseason. Of course, any team should be considered dangerous when it puts John Wall on the court. Already a three-time All-Star in the sixth year of his career, Wall has raised his game to another level this season. Besides leading the conference in double-doubles, he’s one of only two players in the NBA to average 19 points, nine assists, four rebounds, and two steals per game. During February, Wall will lead the Wizards into important matchups with the 76ers and Pelicans—and this year, the schedule even includes a game on Leap Day, which only happens every four years.

About Washington Wizards

Although the Washington Wizards have changed monikers four times since their founding—they’ve previously played under the banner of the Packers, Zephyrs, and Bullets, the latter of which took home the 1978 Pro Basketball World Championship—the franchise has conjured slam dunks in Washington for more than three decades. Several former players have been named among the league's 50 greatest, leaving a mark as indelible as the fake beard superglued to Merlin's face. Today, throngs of up to 20,000 fans gather at the Capital One Arena to cheer on the team swathed in their iconic red, white, and blue uniforms.
