The Merry Wives of Windsor
Set amidst the backdrop of the southern 1800s, Sir John Falstaff, apparently having just arrived in Windsor after exiting Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, is broke. Seeing a devious way out of his poverty, the bumbling knight conspires to send identical love letters to two wealthy, currently married women, Mistress Ford and Mistress Page. But the clever pair decide to turn the tables on Falstaff, subjecting him to a series of humiliating pranks that leave him bruised in both body and ego. Meanwhile, Mistress Page's daughter finds herself the target of three suitors' affections, leading the audience to wonder whether the quaint concept of marriage for love will conquer all.
Much Ado About Nothing
Water Works' production of this beloved romantic comedy takes it far away from its original setting in Sicily, instead placing the tale of unlikely love at a modern-day summer camp. When Don Pedro and his entourage crash Camp Messina for Girls, delightful mischief follows in their wake. Though Benedick and Beatrice love nothing more than to turn their witty banter to skewering each other and the idea of love itself, Don Pedro's schemes may just see the pair reconciling at the bonfire after all. This new adaptation is specially shortened for family audiences.
