The Scouting Report
Forward Kale Kerbashian only joined the Thunder midseason, but he’s already an integral part of the offense. In his first 14 games in Wichita he tallied 15 points and established himself as the team’s assists leader, always there to help out on scoring plays or when a teammate needs his laces tied. Kerbashian’s importance to the Thunder attack was on full display in a recent game against Allen, too, in which he played a role in every Wichita score with a goal and two assists. On February 21, Kerbashian will try to keep that momentum going as he leads the Thunder into a Sunday-afternoon showdown with the Idaho Steelheads.
As a member of the ECHL, the Thunder have rattled Wichita windows with devastating slap shots and board-crashing hits since 1992. Throughout its 24-year history, the team has garnered two Presidents' Cup trophies, filled arenas with a total of more than four million dedicated fans, and retired five numbers, devastating opponents and calculator manufacturers all the while. They are also now an affiliate of the NHL Ottawa Senators.
