In the vibrant production of Xanadu, Greek muse Kira descends from her heavenly perch on Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, where her attempts to start a roller disco embroil her in an illicit love affair with Sonny, a struggling artist. Based on the cult classic starring Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, the play revitalizes the retro California setting and timeless themes, such as love, mythology, and the ability to navigate roller rinks without getting bellbottoms tangled in your skates. The talented cast whizz about the stage in skates, belting upbeat songs such as “Magic, All Over the World”, “Suddenly, I’m Alive”, and “Evil Woman.” As funny and whimsical as a panda bear sharing its observations about airline pretzels, the musical will have audience members tapping toes while munching tasty appetizers such as quesadillas, onion rings, or chicken taquitos.
Though Center Stage sometimes offers discounts online, this deal still offers the best deal available.
