Comedy club continues 36-year tradition with upcoming month's roster of TV-tested humorists & rising comic stars
Without laughter, knock-knocks would only reveal door-to-door salesmen and the Tickle Monster would have to change his name to the “Socially Awkward Monster.” Revel in uninhibited laughs with this deal to see a comedy show at Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Club in the Western Fair District. For $22, you get two tickets to a Thursday night performance at 8 p.m. (a $44 value). Choose from the following dates:
- March 29 featuring headliner Jean Paul, opening act Ryan Cull, and MC Kate Davis.
- April 12 featuring headliner Winston Spear, opening act Bryan O’Gorman, and MC John Hastings.
- April 19 featuring headliner Derek Seguin, opening act Paul Warford, and MC Paul Haywood.
- April 26 featuring co-headliners Kristeen von Hagen and Laurie Elliott with MC Andrew Johnston.<p>
Since their Toronto location opened in 1976, Yuk Yuk’s Comedy Club has been a collective launching pad for such comedy heavyweights as Jim Carrey, Rick Moranis, and Russell Peters. Yuk Yuk’s London stage makes way for a stampede of funny people spearheaded by stand-up veterans and up-and-comers including Trinidad native Jean Paul, whose quips about his parents and their preferred choice of climate earned him appearances on the Comedy Network and CTV. A semi-finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, comedian Winston Spear lures unsuspecting chuckles with his absurd observations and goofy dances, and funnyman Derek Seguin charms audiences with his French-Canadian accent. Also on Yuk Yuk’s humour-seeking radar, Kristeen von Hagen and Laurie Elliott showcase the risqué ribaldry they honed together on the cross-Canada Girls Night Out tour. Yuk Yuk’s opens their full bar and dinner menu one hour before show time and continues serving until the curtain drops.
