Without laughter, knock-knocks would only reveal door-to-door salesmen and the Tickle Monster would have to change his name to the “Socially Awkward Monster.” Revel in uninhibited laughs with this GrouponLive deal to see a comedy show at Yuk Yuk's. For $20, you get two general-admission tickets to any regular show between May 1 and September 3 (up to a $40 value). Performances take place at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Since their Toronto location opened in 1976, Yuk Yuk's Comedy Club has been a collective launching pad for such comedy heavyweights as Jim Carrey, Rick Moranis, and Russell Peters. Yuk Yuk’s Vancouver stage makes way for an oncoming stampede of funny people led by stand-up veterans and up-and-comers alike, including the club's youngest headliner, Jeff McEnery (May 17–18), who won the Great Canadian Laugh Off with his fond recollections of Ernie's Wonton Soup and Bait Shack. Later in the month, New York–based comedian and activist Lee Camp (May 31–June 2) might muse on the ramifications to the bird community if it was barbecue sauce instead of oil spilled in the Gulf. Dinner is currently not served at this club, but small snacks are available.
