What You’ll Do
From decadent ganache fillings to sumptuous truffles, the world of fine chocolate is as immense as it is delicious. Decode this savory treat at a tasting and cooking class with Zach Townsend, a leading authority on the scene who’s made his mark everywhere from Paris to the New York Times to a former president’s dessert table. The experience kicks off with a tasting of Zach’s personal favorite chocolates as you learn their history and cacao percentages before heading to the kitchen to craft dark-chocolate sauces from the very flavor profiles you’ve just sampled. Zach’s chocolate classes were featured in the October 2014 issue of Everyday with Rachel Ray as one of the most fun and creative chocolate activities in the country.

Founder, Pure Chocolate Desserts by Zach
Zach Townsend’s 25 years of chocolate-drenched accomplishments touches all aspects of the industry, from running his acclaimed businesses, Pure Chocolate Desserts by Zach and Dallas Chocolate Classes, to his contributions to the 2010 IACP Cookbook of the Year Rose’s Heavenly Cakes and the New York Times microblog on cake. Zach spent time studying dessert trends and refining his technique at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, the French Pastry School, and at Ecole Chocolat, where he earned a degree. Along with his other impressive cacao achievements, Zach’s sumptuous chocolate desserts were served to former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush by request.
The Fine Print
