It's pricey but you get their undivided attention and the quality of the shots taken are extremely good. My daughter isn't photogenic due to her fake smile when she knows she's getting her picture made. We walked away with some really great shots without the fake smile!

What You'll Get

Photographers preserve subjects’ precious memories, abolishing the need to hastily scoop reflections out of nearby fountains. Seek permanence with today’s Groupon: for $39, you get a one-hour photo shoot from Glamour Shots (a $159.85 total value including processing fees). The shoot includes the following:

  • Airbrush makeover and hairstyling (a $19.95 value)
  • One 8”x10” print (a $29.95 value)
  • Eight wallet prints (a $29.95 value)
  • 72dpi digital image (a $25 value)
  • Slideshow presentation of each shot (a $50 value) Up to six people can participate in the shoot, but the makeover and styling are good only for one.<p>

All prints and digital image are of the same pose.

Glamour Shots’s brigade of expert shutterbugs and cosmetologists get subjects ready for their close-ups with style-enhancing makeovers and photo shoots that result in glossy, high-quality pictures and prints. After a personal consultation with the styling team, clients undergo an airbrushing treatment and hair sculpting. In the next hour, models strike between 24–30 poses, quick-changing into two or three different outfits to capture a spectrum of looks from professional career woman to professional career woman in a bear costume. Depending on the number of portrait participants, the extensiveness of the makeover, and the length of séances to retrieve subjects’ souls from the camera, sessions may last between 2 and 2.5 hours.

Clients pour over proofs immediately after their session and determine which shot best befits an 8”x10” print, eight wallet-size prints, and a 72dpi Internet image to share with friends online. A professional lab generates each print on quality Kodak paper within seven to eight days after the session, and Glamour Shots will ship each picture to customers for an additional $5. To ensure that none of the photos evaporates from living memory, a slideshow presentation houses the proofs of the entire day’s shoot and sets it to music or field recordings of yaks performing Beethoven.

About Glamour Shots

While the fraternity brethren milled about parties discussing Jack Kerouac and sipping cheap lagers, Jack Counts was busy working. In the late 60s, the entrepreneurial college student carved out a niche snapping his shutter during fraternity parties and selling prints dubbed Party Pics to members. Over time, Counts spread his business across multiple campuses, photographing graduation ceremonies and special events and processing the prints in his own lab, Candid Color Systems. With Glamour Shots, Counts’ business yet again expanded from special-events photography to include portrait shoots with an emphasis on flattering female subjects.

At each Glamour Shots shoot, a brigade of expert shutterbugs and cosmetologists gets subjects ready for their close-ups with style-enhancing makeovers and photo shoots that result in high-quality pictures and prints. After a personal consultation with the styling team, clients undergo an airbrushing treatment and hair sculpting. Depending on their package, models strike up to 30 poses, quick-changing into different outfits to capture a spectrum of looks, from professional career woman to professional career woman in a bear costume.

Clients pour over proofs immediately after their session, and a professional lab generates each print on quality Kodak paper within 10 to 12 days after the session, with touchup services available to display pristine complexions. Shots are available in a variety of product forms, including prints, calendars, photo books, and canvas wraps. To ensure that none of the photos evaporates from living memory, a slideshow presentation houses the proofs of the entire day's shoot and sets it to music or field recordings of yaks performing Beethoven.
