I agree with Donna's review that the finished piece had some beads that did not get cut down to make it smooth, as we were told. There was a 'trowel' or some other mark on the surface in the epoxy. Otherwise, people there were nice & helpful. When we first got there it was rather crowded, but as people cleared out we were able to have access to more beads.

Staff was friendly. Selection of colour glass pieces was very poor. We were advised that it didn,t matter if beads were too big, they would cut then to fit and fill in the gaps with filler and make the top smooth. The final pieces were not smooth, some beads had shifted, they were not corrected, some were not cut down to size when filled. Uneven Bumpy finish, IMO Not professionally finished.

Staff were friendly and pleasant. Too crowded in small space is only complaint. This leads to very snippy "classmates". Smaller groups would have been better otherwise you are butting heads. Be aware that if you make bigger pieces, it does cost extra and you have to pay GST at the site. You must also have to return in a few days to pick up your piece.

I was hoping we could be more involved in the glass making. Basically you chose these "glass beads" & put them in a pendant holder & it was glued together. The staff was pleasant & there were many nice displays of glass artwork for sale.

Fun and creative event. You are able to pay extra and do a larger piece, such a the belt buckle that has good impact.

Celebrated a girlfriend's birthday with a small group of friends. Owners were wonderful, very helpful and informative. We all made pendants and all turned out beautifully. Would definitely go back.

About Glass Mosaic Canada

Upholders of ancient Roman mosaic techniques since their foundation in 1990, Glass Mosaic Canada’s team of knowledgeable artisans outfits shoppers with mosaic-making supplies while helming hands-on art courses, which are ideal for summer activities, birthday parties, and pupils of all ages. Staffers bustle about the store stocking shelves with a glittering selection of tiles and tesserae imported from across the globe along with handy tools and accessories.

Sage instructors employ upward of 10 years of teaching experience to impart their tile-centric prowess upon students during interactive courses and workshops that teach both basic and advanced mosaic applications depending on students' experience levels and any mosaic work done in a previous life. While specializing in all things mosaic, the store’s staff also works with homeowners to create in-home mosaics and stained-glass pieces to beautify domestic planes.
