Glass can be exquisite in its myriad forms, from the ornate windows of a Gothic cathedral to the crystalline webbing of a freshly vandalized windshield. Reflect on beauty with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $59 for three two-hour mosaic classes (a $35 value each), including a one-time materials fee (a $25 value; a $130 total value). Classes will take place Wednesday and Friday at 6 p.m.
- $99 for a two-day mosaic workshop, including materials and tools ($210 value). Classes will take place on Saturday and Sunday or Tuesday and Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Two-hour classes—designed for those who can attend weekly—spread a similar set of skills throughout multiple meetings. Or, on day one of the two-day workshop, pupils design a mosaic pattern and learn to cut stained glass pieces to fit it. On their second visit, they’ll use grouting techniques to permanently set their compositions, embellishing the finished glass artwork with materials such as italian smalti, beads, and rocks.

Glass Shack Studio
The sunlight streaming through Glass Shack Studio's second-story windows sets shards of stained glass ablaze in a rainbow of hues, sending glints of colored light dancing across crafting tables. Shaped by specialized cutting tools and anchored by grout, these glass pieces will eventually form colorful mosaics like those displayed on the studio's chartreuse walls, which double as a gallery for local artisans. During workshops and classes, owner and founder Haley Alcock calls on her background in elementary and middle-school education to swiftly explicate the nearly 3,500-year-old art form, teaching students to assemble glittering landscapes, abstract designs, and portraits of their favorite light bulbs.
