Rays of sunlight pour through skylights and glaze Glastonbury Tennis Club’s six recently resurfaced courts, where friendly professionals cater private clinics to each player’s ability. No experience is required during the 60-minute beginner clinic, which cycles through the sport’s fundamentals, such as how to grip the racket, keep score, and block out the ball’s shrill shrieking. Students with a modicum of court savvy can opt for the intermediate session, which molds players into proper form while pairing movement exercises with competitive play. Designed for students with a 3.5 USTA rating or above, the advanced clinic allows athletes to hone their strokes and serves while networking with one of Glastonbury’s resident experts or feral ball machines.

About Glastonbury Tennis Club
Whether you need a racket restrung in the pro shop or want to hear stories about tennis greats, Glastonbury Tennis Club director Keith Perron happily consults with visitors on all aspects of the game. Keith oversees the club's six championship courts, where he and his fellow professional teachers coach kids and adults alike. Their lessons cover game basics to tournament techniques, preparing students for both casual and USTA team matches. Spectators can observe practicing players from an observation deck in the lounge, which is equipped with daycare centers and free WiFi.
