Bad experiences at prom and in civil court trials can sour anyone's outlook on tuxedo-exclusive events. Rethink bow ties and cuff links with today's side deal. For $37, you get a ticket to the annual East Meets West fundraiser hosted by the Global Pathways Project (GPP), a $75 value. This year's formal fete takes place on Saturday, March 27, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum in Fells Point and features live music, cuisine crafted by some of the area's top eateries (including Indigma, Baba's Kitchen, and Matsuri ), an all-inclusive full bar, international entertainment, and a globally-inspired silent auction. You must be 21 or older and swaddled in your formal attire (black tie optional) to enter. All of the proceeds from the event go directly to GPP's Baltimore International Camp, a summer camp program designed to expose Baltimore city youth to other cultures and places around the globe.
The Global Pathways Project is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization that aims to educate Americans about the benefits of an adventure overseas. Swap stories with other worldly residents, host an Epcot Center buffet in your mouth, or dance away your workweek worries. Complimentary parking is available to guests in the Landmark Parking lot adjacent to the museum, on Thames Street.
