Before photography, the only way people could preserve their most treasured memories was by forcing everyone around them to stand completely still for days at a time. Today's Groupon gives you a less complicated option: for $60, you get a 20-minute private studio session—for up to five people—plus one 8”x10” print and one high-resolution digital file from Gloss Photography Studios in Shorewood (up to a $265 value).
Over the course of roughly 20 minutes, you and your fellow subjects (a $130 value for five) will be carefully posed and allowed to let loose under the flashbulbs at Gloss. Armed with top-of-the-line Canon equipment, resident photographer Jaci will snap between 20 and 40 shots during the session. Afterward, subjects can select the glamorous-est photo for Gloss to print in its precision lab ($35 for an 8”x10” print). Gloss also provides a digital copy of the chosen image (a $100 value), which means you can digitally edit, email, or print it to your analog heart's content. Whether you are married, soon to be married, or a child reading at an eighth-grade level, Gloss's professional photo services can freshen up any headshot, holiday card, or driver's license.
Gloss Photography Studios
Professional photographer Jaci Ruben and her team approach every shoot with a clean slate, taking cues from the personalities of those centered in the lens rather than imposing a fixed aesthetic onto a client or occasion. The resulting photos are marked by a certain naturalness and are made unique by the photographer's willingness to break with outmoded photography conventions.
When she's not taking photographs, Jaci engages in locally focused philanthropic efforts that include her own organization, ProjectStella. The initiative was named after her dog and studio companion Stella, and has raised funds for the Milwaukee Humane Society since 2009.
