For five years, the passionate instructors at Golden Bridge Yoga NYC, led by director Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, have fostered a community of holistic wellness with Kundalini- and Hatha-style yoga classes. The robust schedule features more than 50 sessions each week to accommodate students of all experience levels. Kundalini yoga involves a range of approaches from aerobic to a more cerebral approach, walking students through breathing exercises and gentle yogic poses alongside meditative chants to feed ravenous spirit animals with relaxed energy. Like sticky mat origami, Hatha yoga uses a series of moves to build strength, decrease stress, and enhance muscular flexibility. Students arrive at class with their personal yoga mats, as well as a light blanket to stay warm during relaxation periods.

Golden Bridge Yoga NYC

Golden Bridge was founded in 1985 by world-renowned yogi Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa. She rooted the studio’s focus in the Kundalini yoga style, which was brought to the west by Yogi Bhajan—a master yogi, doctor of philosophy, and author who has spent his life promoting world peace. Today, Golden Bridge’s New York– and Los Angeles–based studios continue to spread the teachings of Kundalini yoga, which combines meditation, prayer, movement, and breathing exercises into a comprehensive practice.
