"If music be the food of love, play on." Forget flowery language or fancy chocolates -- even Shakespeare knew that the most direct route to the heart is through music. Now you can experience a true musical valentine as the California Chamber Orchestra presents this evening of song at Old Town Temecula Community Theater. The concert features local flute and piccolo virutuoso Kate Prestia-Schaub, who'll perform Martin Kennedy's "Desplazamiento," a sparkling (and highly challenging) tightrope walk through the teasings and temptations of tango rhythms, along with Daniel Dorff's "It Takes Four to Tango" for flute and strings. In addition, the orchestra will perform music by Ravel and Villa-Lobos, plus the beloved incidental music for Mendellsohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
