A prolific folk rocker who's opened for Jack Johnson and contributed songs to soundtracks for I Love You, Man and Girls, SoCal singer-songwriter Matt Costa and his band come to the Alberta Rose in Portland for a show and to screen a full-length documentary that Costa recently scored. A SXSW and film fest favorite, 2016's Orange Sunshine is a trippy look at the LSD-focused '60s collective known as the Brotherhood of Eternal Love, a spiritually-connected group of hippies and surfers who went on the run after attracting the attention of U.S. law enforcement.
