What You'll Get
From free jazz to funk to blues to roots, James Blood Ulmer has played and influenced it all. Early in his career, he jammed with the great avant-garde saxophonist Ornette Coleman, released several acclaimed funk albums and toured throughout Europe. In 2001, he delved headlong into the blues with the Vernon Reid-produced Memphis Blood: The Sun Sessions, scoring a Grammy nod and kicking off a series of acclaimed blues releases. The Washington Post calls him "a leading interpreter of the blues ... transcendent and edgy." Check out his acclaimed sound for yourself at Arts Garage in Delray Beach.
