Ludovic Morlot is in his sixth season as the maestro of the Seattle Symphony, during which time he's taken the ensemble all the way to Carnegie Hall for a performance The New York Times called "rich with shimmering colors and tremulous energy." In this latest performance at the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium, Morlot conducts the Seattle Symphony in Tchaikovsky's epic Symphony No. 5 -- a work so rousing that during World War II it was performed by Russian orchestras during German bombings to raise morale -- and Sibelius' boisterous Violin Concerto.
