What You'll Get
Frequency 49, an acclaimed chamber sextet that boasts five female musicians -- and one male bassoonist -- celebrates Women's History Month at the Berkeley City Club with a fitting program focused on female composers. The Bay Area ensemble is set to perform works by noted Polish composer Grazyna Bacewicz (Wind Quintet), Grammy-nominated flutist Valerie Coleman (Umoja), Austrian-American music therapist Vally Wiegl (New England Suite) and others. Frequency 49's renowned sound comes from an interesting combination of instruments, which includes the aforementioned bassoon, along with clarinet, oboe, flute, French horn and piano. Your ticket includes a post-show wine-and-cheese reception with the artists.
