Socio-political turmoil rocked Brazil in the 1970s, changing the landscape of the country in myriad ways. In Brasil 70: Samba/Soul/Resistance, the musical collective Samba Society takes to stage to showcase its deep roots in Brazilian music and the global rhythms of Los Angeles. This concert will feature artists at the forefront of the L.A. Brazilian scene, including guests Diana Purim, Tita Lima and more as they highlight some of the country's traditional musical genres alongside international musical forms.

The Fine Print
Parking is stacked, so you will not be able to retrieve your car until after the show. This is an outdoor venue, so please dress accordingly (i.e., it gets cold at night). Also, it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes because the venue is a county park, so parking lots and the venue in general are located in hilly terrain. You are welcome to bring food and drink (beer and wine only) and picnic on the plaza or in your seats. Picnic tables are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
