Cassie Chilton and Alex Crossland have been active in the Phoenix music and theatre scenes for the better part of the last decade, and met performing in the Arizona premiere of the musical Once, an actor-musician show which features the music of Glenn Hansard and Markéta Irglová. With backgrounds in storytelling and formal education in music, the first moments of working together sparked a creative partnership similar to that of The Civil Wars or The Carpenters. Other major influences include The Lumineers, The Head and the Heart, Maggie Rogers, and Lucius. They live by three simple principles: drink LaCroix, wear your heart and your songs on your sleeve, and give a damn. Their debut, self-titled EP is available on all streaming platforms now.
