Charles Wright, the soul singer-songwriter responsible for the iconic hit tune "Express Yourself," takes the stage at Harvelle's in Long Beach with his longtime back-up group, the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band. Released in the summer of 1970, the empowering groove-filled anthem "Express Yourself" is a Grammy-nominated Top 10 R&B smash, which has been remixed and sampled by numerous rap artists including N.W.A. and appeared in more than 50 different commercials and 30 films, including the upcoming The Emoji Movie. The soul-funk specialists also released successful singles like "Do Your Thing," "Till You Get Enough" and "Love Land," while Wright recently recorded a blues album, titled Something to Make You Feel Good.
